PROJECT NR.2

For a dear friend of ours, I designed something a bit different from my usual style. Robin (yes, she shares the same name) reached out with a mood board and floor plan for the studio she was about to rent in Amsterdam, asking for my help with the color scheme and layout. She had already acquired a few key furniture pieces and wanted my guidance in selecting the rest.

We began by pulling a color palette from a poster she had already purchased, using it as the foundation for the design process. Together, we shaped the studio's layout, creating a custom dining table by sourcing the legs and top from different websites. We also curated an art wall around the existing poster, making it a focal point of the space.

Books // Robin also asked me to design a space to store part of her extensive book collection. I envisioned a corner bookshelf wall that stretches along the base of the glass partition. This design not only maximizes storage but also enhances the reading nook, maintaining a sense of openness while keeping the space neat and organized.

The rattan dining chairs and glass pendant light were the perfect finishing touches, completing the dining area with a warm, inviting feel.

For the corner bookshelf wall, I used sleek chrome brackets paired with dark-stained wood. This combination allowed for custom-sized shelves, ensuring a perfect fit while adding a touch of sophistication to the space.

By placing the sofa in the center of the studio, I was able to create a natural division between the dining and seating areas. Adding a rug underneath the sofa further enhances this sense of separation, creating a cozy and defined space within the open layout.
