Stille Helden (Silent Heroes) is a musical theatre production based on the true story of the Dutch resistance group De Eversberg, inspired by the novel Schuilen bij tante Kee (Hiding with Aunt Kee) by Henk de Ruiter. Set during the Second World War, the performance follows Geesje “Aunt Kee” Jansen-Leijster, a widow living in the Eversberg area near Nijverdal. Together with her family and members of the local resistance, she shelters people in hiding and is forced to make difficult moral choices under the German occupation.

The production combines music, drama, and song, and was created through a collaboration between professional theatre-makers and local amateur performers, with musical direction by KSW and direction by Jos Brummelhuis.

Rather than merely recounting history, Stille Helden aimed to make the audience feel the weight of courage, solidarity, and quiet heroism in times of great danger.
